Broadfield House Glass Museum

The museum closed on 30 September 2015. The collection is now displayed at Stourbridge Glass Museum, which opened on 9 April 2022.

Glassmaking has taken place in Stourbridge for over 400 years, and glass
and crystal are still produced here today. Broadfield House Glass
Museum opened in 1980, although in the late 18th century the building
was originally a farmhouse surrounded by fields.

This is one of the most important glass museums in the world. The
displays and exhibitions feature locally made glass and crystal, as
well as items from further afield.

Within the building there is a working glass studio where visitors can
watch glassblowers at work. Admission to the museum is free, and any
visit should also take into account the nearby Red House Glass Cone
Visitor Centre, where the history of glassmaking is presented within
one of the world’s finest surviving examples of a glass cone building.
