Sunnycroft

Sunnycroft is a late Victorian suburban villa located in Wellington, Shropshire. Built in the late nineteenth century, it offers an intimate glimpse into the life of a prosperous middle-class family during that era. Unlike grand country estates, Sunnycroft was designed as a comfortable yet aspirational home, complete with many modern features for its time, such as hot running water and stylish period interiors. Much of the house remains unchanged, with original fixtures, furnishings, and decorative details that help capture the atmosphere of Victorian and Edwardian domestic life.

The house sits within a charming small estate that includes a beautiful tree-lined driveway, an impressive glass conservatory, and well-kept gardens featuring roses, borders, and orchards. Outbuildings such as stables and glasshouses also survive, adding to its authentic historic character. Now cared for by the National Trust, Sunnycroft provides visitors with a wonderfully preserved snapshot of a bygone era, offering both the warmth of a family home and the elegance of a period property.
