Frensham Pond near Farnham in Surrey is situated in Frensham Common a National Trust reserve covering around 1,000 acres comprising of heathland and woodland.
Frensham Pond takes about 45 minutes to walk around.The pond is not a natural pond having been built in the Middle Ages to provide fish for the estate of the Bishop of Winchester. The pond covers approx 100 acres and is used for sailing and fishing. There is also a beach and a swimming area in the summer. It is in the summer months that the pond is used for family visits and by ramblers and for picnics.
