Padstow

Padstow

Padstow is an old, established settlement in Cornwall, with records dating back to around the 6th century. During medieval times, Padstow was granted the right of sanctuary by King Athelstan. Walter Raleigh is also known to have lived in Padstow.

Padstow was a busy fishing and trading port in the 17th century. Today, fishing and pleasure trips ensure that Padstow remains a lively harbour, attracting large numbers of tourists to its narrow streets and picturesque surroundings.

Rick Stein, the well-known award-winning chef, has several restaurants in Padstow, ranging from seafood dining to a patisserie. Within a short walking distance of the harbour are some excellent beaches, and the views are spectacular.

Padstow is a delightful place to spend a day, a week, or as long as you can.
