Opal One, or Opal 1, advertises itself as Birmingham’s Premier, award winning student accommodation. The building is certainly impressive and the location reasonably central being situated on Belgrave Middleway, on the corner of the Bristol Road just opposite McDonalds.
The facilities include a pool and fully equipped gym with leisure facilities on site. It is easy to see why this kind of complex would be more appealing to students. Why settle for a damp dingy room in a terraced house in Selly Oak when you could have this.
Well, it probably comes down to money. However, it is worth noting that Opal 1 services are all inclusive which means that you don’t need to pay a hefty deposit, your contents insurance is free and so is your internet. Utility bills add up and are worth considering when making comparisons.
