In India, churidar is worn at home or when going out to visit religious places. It is described as a long shirt with bottoms that are like baggy trousers. Seventy percent of the family will wear a churidar, although this often depends on how westernised your family is.
Anyone can wear a salwaar suit, but mostly Indian ladies will wear salwaar suits at home and for going out. A salwaar suit is described as a long dress with a trouser-style version. The trousers can be baggy or tight fitted.
There are different types of fabrics you can buy from Indian shops. You can buy very expensive saris, such as royal silk or silk, as well as cotton, satin, and velvet versions. All saris include a blouse and an underskirt. The underskirt is worn under the sari, and the sari can be wrapped around it for protection.
Lengha are normally worn for functions such as weddings, birthday parties, and anniversaries. Lengha are also worn by brides on their wedding day, often in gold and red or dark red, with matching shoes and hair accessories. Lengha is described as a short top and a long skirt that comes to your feet and is often accompanied by a scarf as a finishing touch. The scarf can be worn around the neck or to the side, but for a bride it should be worn on the head, which represents respect to the whole family.
Coloured shawls are very popular in India and in Britain. Most shawls come from India. They are normally hand made, or sometimes manufactured, with many different threads used to produce the garment.

Indian music is very popular all over the world. There are many different types of music that you can purchase from Indian shops and even from HMV stores around the UK. Most Indian records, cassettes, and DVDs are shipped from abroad. There are many intelligent directors and talented singers with sharp voices.
There are many different types of music you can purchase such as ghazals, classical, bhangra, instrumental, remix, oldies, marriage songs, and more. Many people prefer classical and old songs because it takes them back to their childhood. As time goes on, there are many new artists and young and old DJs who bring the music back to life.
