Most people refer to it locally as One Hagley Road but it is also known as Metropolitan House. The building is situated on the Five Ways roundabout at Edgbaston on the A456 Hagley Road. The Five Ways roundabout itself is a major landmark and a busy
intersection.
This 1970’s office block was designed by John Madin. It was completed in 1974 and is 69 metres ( 226 ft ) high and has eighteen floors. Currently the building is home to various
employment agencies, financial institutions and a transport operator.
The roof of the building has radio masts fo Galaxy Radio, CE Birmingham ( DAB Digital Radio ) and Orange telecommunications equipment. The building still looks
quite modern for its age and the inside features some new high speed lifts and
modern spacious accommodation. Further details can be found at the owners
